My car was inspected at the request of a potential buyer by SGS Automotive Inspection Services. I agreed to the inspection that the purcharser was going to pay for. The inspection personell came to my house on March 27th. The person that inspected my car wore a wedding ring that scratched the car and it's paint in numerous places during his inspection - doing damage to my car.
The company now states that my car being damaged by their employee should be taken up with the person that requested the inspection; taking no responsibility or liability for their employees actions. I am now stuck with a scratched car that this company left me with - and they take no responsibility or corrective actions to fix the problem they created.
Here is their email to me:
We regret hearing about the issue you've had with our inspection performed on your [car]. However, because this inspection was purchased and is now property of the potential buyer, Mr. JG, we are unable to take any action in hopes to resolve this matter. Any complaints and/or issues surrounding this inspection would have to be sent in by Mr. Gary Johnson.
If you have any further questions feel free to contact us. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 9pm EST.
