Just a heads up! Please be very careful regarding online employers. I worked for Linens 4 You and barely spoke to the owner by phone but a handful of times over an 8 month span. She was rarely available but I did get paid so I thought nothing of it. Until... Other employees were being let go for no apparent reason or lost their jobs without so much as a phone call or a letter.
We gave all of our personal information to the owner. SS#, Drivers License, etc... At one point a few weeks back she told us she lost all of our information and we had to copy and send back to her. How could an employer just loose all of our information? That same employer recently admitted to doing a background check on me which is highly illegal unless permission was given by me.
I decided to quit because first... I wasn't being paid. Secondly I kept hearing how customers were being ripped off and this bothered me as well. I even had one customer email me personally and was disturbed that she had never received her product and it had been months! I have that e-mail to prove it!!! When I tried to help her she was put on the back burner and to this day has not received a product or a refund.
Now I sit and wait for 3 checks totaling 560.00 and after 4 weeks has gone by... Nothing. I called the bank # the employer gave me and it wasn't even the bank... It was a third party who processses the banks checks. Everything was done on line they told me and sent to the wrong address. They said they can't help me now it's up to the bank. This woman who owns the company claims that I am deranged and impatient.
So... Where are the checks? Not in my mailbox! She has told bold lies saying that I collaberated with a handful of people to try and bring her down. If you look at the BBB reports on her there have been 58 complaints that started long before I even knew the co. Existed. And the people that are complaining happen to be other ex-employees who have been treated unfairly or. Like myself haven't been paid!!!
Plus... Many unhappy customers! She was busted for posing as someone else on workplacelikehome and I guarantee her defenses will be up when she reads this. So I have spoken the truth and when she replies to this with her line of crock I will not reply because she is just wanting to stir up trouble. I just wanted to let others know to be careful who you work for, you think you might know them but the cold truth is. You probably don't.
Oh. And one more thing: while I sent her photos of me and my son I never saw one of her. She told me there were no pohtos of her except for a wedding picture. Kind of strange don't you think?
