I had a call from a telemarketer offering a free listing with their organization, Small Business Organization Online. They said they would mail me information of their extended services which had a charge, $ 29-95 / month. If I didn't want to accept their services I could inform them that I didn't want their services.
The problem is I never received their information through the mail and because I didn't receive it I couldn't inform them that I didn't want their services and because I didn't contact them they started charging my telephone bill through ESBI.
My phone company, VTEL, called ESBI (888 760 3724) with me on a conference line, and they put through to SBO Online. They have said they will refund one charge, there were only two luckily. My rep from VTEL says she will do something to try and get the other charge refunded.
I made a call later to SBO to get some verification that they actually mailed something to me. Their line is that the mailing had a bar code so the postal service can return it if doesn't get delivered. That is not proof of delivery. They say they sent it, I never received it. They apologize but I quite honestly don't believe they ever sent anything.
I was lucky that I am not going to have lost much if any money on this one but it is only because I called my phone company to clarify my bill. I had a similar problem of charges to my phone bill from OAN Services. That was when she told me about these new charges which would appear on my next bill.
