Ivins Group
Dont waste your time, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!

The Ivins group is just another scam, I was sent an e mail from them and another company doing the same type of operation in Pittsburgh, and their operations and their websites were completely identical in setup.

First, I responded to the e mail, I was set up for an interview for the very next day, they said that they had 15 positions and they were going fast. I showed up for the interview and was expecting the job to be very lucrative and something I really wasnt qualified for. They say that they are a sports marketing and advertising firm... HA! That is the biggest lie, they basically polish a terd, which I thought was impossible until this experience.

You think that you are going to be trained in marketing and advertising, and are told that they have "clients that you will be meeting with" and representing, but actually all you do is go door to door soliciting products to people who almost 99 percent of the time are disinterested from the get go. The only experience you need for this job you probably got in childhood selling fundraiser merchandise door to door in your neighborhood. This is exactly what you are doing for the Ivins Group except with businesses.

They say "direct advertising", pretty creative if you ask me, and that they can reach 99 percent of consumers based on the clients needs. First of all if these clients saw how these so called salespeople solicited to businesses that had NO SOLICITING signs on their doors and still went in to try to sell products they would be appalled. As a matter of fact, there was another girl who wrote of similar actions in her report.

On top of this, my girlfriend works in an office that provides counseling services for people with major problems, and she told me the very day that I went on my interview that she had to run some of the very employees from the office I went to out of the her office where people are seeking help for their life problems which is a very private thing. She said they came in trying to sell makeup, and even described them down to the clothes they were wearing. I mean come on, this is like going into a doctors office and going to the waiting room and trying to sell things to the patients. How about that, using other peoples places of business to do your own, unbeleivable!

Ok, so back to the second interview, I showed up at 8 am, and was carted off with another guy also on his second interview with two guys who were working and one guy who was training, I was told that it would be a full day of job shadowing, but this was crazy, it was like 20 degrees outside, and raining, we had no idea where we were going, it was like they were afraid to tell us what we were going to be doing, or expected us to know. We went out, trudged through the snow all day, and solicited to businesses. They even went so far as to get "pushy" with people who could not speak good english and were foreigners since we were selling labor law posters that day, and they told them they had to have them posted by law, which they do, but when an english speaking born and raised American person told them they didnt need them or didnt care they would just accept it and walk away as opposed to talking condescendingly to these people whom most of them couldnt even make the decision to buy these posters because they were simply employees.

Anyways, we finally arrived back at the office and the other guy on the second interview basically tore out of the parking lot on two wheels he was so disappointed and appalled that he completeley wasted his day. They pay their employees in cash, and claiming gas mileage, and gas and meals, and anything else they tell you that you can write off on your taxes as well as your income is up to you to track, one guy that went out that day and drove us came back with a whopping 13 dollars! But I was told that that was a slow day. He probably spent at least 25 dollars in gas, what if you didnt have that much money and you were spending as much or more in gas than you were making?

And to confirm the other girls claims of the young man claiming to have gone to YALE, I was told the same story, and he supposedly majored in some kind of marketing, why the hell would you settle for a position like this? People are practically recruited out of Ivy league schools by businesses, or have networked enough to get a very good job right out of school, I dont know but if it sounds fishy, and smells fishy, it probably is fishy. I hope that this report will get to someone else before they consider going through with the second interview like I did.
