On December 30th, my fiance Roberto and I came in to look at a 2002 Mercedes SLK that we saw on eBay. I came prepared with paperwork and were adamant that I did not want my credit to be run more than once. We were told by the finance manager, Judy Perez their company only runs my credit once and then she will find a bank that will work with us. She advised us that it was better for us to co-buy the car because I was a first time buyer. So we did and we were told the sale was complete. We drove off the lot approved by Eastern Financial. One week later I came in and spoke to the owner about my CD changer while getting the car supposedly detailed. It has been six weeks and still have not heard anything about this CD changer. But that is the least of our problems.
Two weeks now go by and Judy calls us and ask for Roberto's proof of employment and residence. He provides it. He asks her for the address of the bank for insurance purposes and she tells Roberto she changed the bank to Chase Bank and got us approved for 8% instead of 11%. I call her after to find out my new payments and she tells me nothings changed. I asked her if she had to run our credit again she tells me it was not necessary. As of today Roberto and I have checked our Credit Report and there is at least 5-6 inquires from your company on it.
Three weeks now go by and my check engine light goes on, I call Judy and ask her about my warranty she tells me it's because I didn't close my gas cap. No, it's on tight and the light is still on. She calls Roberto and now there's a problem with his residency. We don't get approved. She tries to get me approved by myself back to Eastern Financial. Don't hear from her. I take matters in my own hands and get approved for an auto loan with Capital One for the full amount at 12% interest but cannot use it at the dealership.
Four weeks now go by, calling Judy nonstop and she finally tells me we're approved by First Bank. Judy tells me my real tags will be DHL'ed to me overnight along with my warranty paperwork. I receive nothing the next day, so she sends me temporary tags not providing any tracking number for the first package.
Five weeks go by and I receive a letter that I did not get approved by First Bank. I call Judy, she tells me it's AmeriBank and they are sister companies. Flat lie.
Six weeks now, and I get into my car and the roof was leaking oil all over my seats, I tried the convertible and it started to smoke. I called our salesman Robert and told him what happened, asked Judy to call me immediately. Nothing. I called back and waited two days for any warranty paperwork with excuses after excuses and I get faxed my contract application for a warranty. I called Zurich and there was no information or any warranty request submitted on this vehicle. Roberto called Judy to ask her what to do and she said the owner would call him back in five minutes. It has been days since then and we are still waiting for somebody to call us. The damage of the car is getting worse, so I finally called the bank and they tell me I do have a warrrenty and o my interest rate is 18.25% on the loan. Absolutely incorrect. They faxed me a copy of the sales contract and it is completely different contract with false signatures on it. This company will lie and cheat you and would rather tell you want you want to hear than the truth. I wish I was never approved I would have taken my business somewhere not filled with deception and lies. Buyers Beware, usually when it's too good to be true it really isn't.
