I was employed by Covenant for 11 1/2 yrs. I left in April because of a lack of miles and constant refusal to get me home on time as requested. There was times I had to cancel time off because in their words, "No freight going to South Texas. This was a constant and ongoing problem since 2000 when they opened the new corporate facility and went public.
Up until Covenant had an open door policy and then after acquiring several companies, they put everyone behind a locked door.
Covenant was very good at meeting driver emergencies and getting drivers there as quick and safely as possible.
When the company went public, Mr Parker lost that personal touch he had with his drivers and made him best. They did not have the best maintence program but they were no worse off than other companies. Very rarely was their a problem with payroll. If a problem came up it was solved within 24 hours. I left because of low pay, low miles, fight to get home and dispatchers with no idea what they were doing.
