I ordered the Gladiator Sampler from Thompson Cigar in January. Their catalog shows a metal case that has a foam interior with cutouts to hold 12 cigars, a humidifier, a bullet cutter and a guillotine cutter. The sampler also came with their humidor solution and twelve cigars. Cost was $59.00.
After ordering the sampler, I got a call from Thompson explaining that their humidor solution was back ordered, and it would not ship until March. They offered to ship me everything else, if I didn't want the solution. No thanks, I'll wait, doesn't the solution retail for around $25?
So I finally get the sampler, and actually get it in February, earlier than expected. But the case is nothing like the one shown and described. Just a cheap metal case. No foam padding to protect cigars, no humidifier, no cutters.
Naturally I am unhappy with this unexpected case and make a complaint through the website. The response I get from Linda of Internet Customer Service, is very indifferent. Just states they apologize for the inconvenience, but the case is no longer available, so they substituted it.
So I reply that I am unhappy with their substitution and their response to my complaint. I tell them I am no longer going to do business with them if this is how they do business and handle complaints and ask to be removed from all of their mailing lists.
Linda's response - We have removed you from our catalog and email lists as requested.
