I pulled off the lot and within an hour the check engine light was on!

My girlfriend and i were in a bad situation. Our car was on its last leg and needed major repairs. We went to drive time to see if we could get approved, and of course we did, thats how we get suckered in. Finally after alot of slick talking and reports showing us we were buying a car that had been inspected by a mechanic, you know the one where they tell you that the car had a 100 point inspection, we drove off the lot with a 2004 PT cruiser.

We test drove it ofcourse and it seemed to run great (for a 20 thousand dollar car it should have had wings). As we were driving home the check engine light comes on. I signed the paper work right as they were closing so we couldnt take it back that day. The next day i was on the phone explaining my frustration and we took it to the shop.

On the way to the shop we noticed the car was making a thumping noise. When we got to the shop (Cottmans) on starky road we told the mechanic about the thumping noise. He fixed the check engine problem which was a sensor and told us that he couldnt feel anything wrong with the thumping noise so we drove home.

10 days later we feel the problem getting worse so we took it in. Now the mechanic has changed his tune to the song of "well the shocks are bad, you need new struts, the wheel bearings are toast, and you will probably need a new tire".

I was so mad i couldnt see straight. I called the dealership where i got the car and they gave me the (866) number. Since the car was under warrenty they would pay for everything but the tire. They also told us they would only reinburse me for the rental car, thats when i came unglued. We are of modest income with children to feed and didnt have the money to even get a rental car. I again called the dealership and got the GM on the phone. After a 20 minuite conversation with him i just became more upset. They were just giving me the run around. He told me to call the (866) number and that he would get back to me soon. After 4 hours of waiting i called him again and got the "he is on the other line with coorprete to get things resolved" after another 2 hours i called him again and they gave me more excuses why he couldnt return my calls.

Finally i got a hold of him and he said to call the (866) number again. I then asked him " You were on the phone with your boss for 6 hours and the only thing you can tell me is call the other number. I just hung up with him.

Once again i called the (866) number to get a supervisor on the phone. When i got through with them i told her about the lemon they sold to me on purpose. She told me the lemon law was only for new cars.

Does that evil empire and there employees even have a concience. I bought a car for twice or more what its worth, I get no customer service and the thing poops out on me not once but twice in two weeks. I just want them to pay for the tire which isnt under warrenty but they should pay for it because we told them about it when the check engine light was on THE SECOND DAY WE BOUGHT IT! And i also want them to pay for the rental car, not a reinbursement, we are poor and trying to make a living. Please dont buy a car from these devils, you will be saving yourself from heartache and frustration.
We need help asap!
