My wife and I negotiated a sales price for a used 2006 Tahoe down to $20875 including a GM certification just yesterday Jan 12. It was late and past their closing hours and as the numbers and contracts were shown to me, I was told everything was in order and all I had to do was sign the contracts.
Little did I know that two extra fees popped up to inflate the price of the vehicle as:
Consumer service...$129.00
tg...$698.89
To $21702.89 (additional $827.89)
This may not seem like much; however, my wife and I were walking out of the door when they offered the vehicle for $21,995 as that wasn't a good enough deal for us.
They are closed today so I will have to wait until tomorrow to discuss this with them and have every intention of asking for this money back. I now know there are many resources warning against this type of last minute hidden scam.
I hope they will rectify this situation and I will post their response.
