Marketing Ventures of Fort Lauderdale is such a scam for College Students. If you are a college student or you have graduated from college... Trying to get your feet in the door at this place is not the way to go. They bring you in for an interview and if you are not dressed business professional, have a ghetto look, or over the age of 24, you can expect to be there only a few minutes for an interview that literally consists of the so called president telling you that this is a sales position, and that you will be selling business to business... (which of course is door to door).
So if you have gone to this interview and it was only 2 minutes, you know you weren't offered the job. But if you are one of the lucky ones to come in with the features of a professional, you will be told by the so called president that this is not a sales position and that this is not commision based (It so is!)
Don't even think about asking for a set salary. There is none. All that talk about you running your own company within a year is total bull* as well. I can't believe people actually think that is what they are going to be doing. It's a pyramid scheme to get more people in the door so that so called president can move up in the company. Not in this company!
Your second interview is a full day of working with the other sales reps to see if this is what you like. Most people who come in for a second interview, end up leaving before the day is up because they are not told in the beginning that they will be working from their cars and not an office. The thing that really gets people into the office is the fact that the president says that this is business to business and businesses we already know.
This is a door to door scam and involves you practically walking into a business and soliciting their product. The fact of the matter is, this place is not a place to start out in. Most people dont last a week and are usually fired because they don't deliver.
The Administrative assistant is more like a slave to this president and has no lunch hour what so ever. The only time this person sees the light of day, is if the president wants that person to run out and get them coffee or lunch. That is a violation of employee's right and they could be penalized for that. So if you are already working for this company, I would suggest finding another career choice, because this career path does not pay any bills in any way.
