I see a lot of similar reports regarding the fraudulent and unrelenting nature of Area Circulation Inc. I too have a similar story and desperately want to cancel my subscription but keep being told I can't because they have made a commitment to their companies.
Does anyone know if customers have legally bound themselves to this contract if they do not explicitely state they agree to it on the phone? I am not sure that this is the case.
I work in the legal field and I would like to threaten legal action if they do not cancel my account and continue to charge me for magazines I have not recieved. Has anyone tried this? Does anyone think they might respond to such a threat?
Additionally, does anyone think that it might be productive to gather a group of people ripped off and send them a letter from all of us threatening to bring action against their company if they do not immediately cancel our accounts?
I would appreciate any response to these questions.
