Unpaid independent contractor wages and only paid me $100 instead of 22hrs at $12h

Hi there

I have run into a big problem with a telemarketing company

My past employer Singular Solutions LLC refuses to pay me all the money I am owed as an independent contractor for the time of 4 days that I worked

Ok just to review

The hirer Patrick last week said he will pay me $12hr vs commission on phone line sales
What the company does is they use an automatic dialer with agents to call quest subscribers trying to switch them over to a lower billing rate and eventually to AT&T

Every time we get a prospect to agree to the terms we send it to a verifier
Usually this is a person who just calls to verify that all thatreps said was good By FCC law

We get paid by how many phone lines (residential or business) the customer has with Quest
That first day Oct 6th I worked from 8am - 1pm
The second day I worked from 7am-1pm Fri Oct 7th
The 3rd day Oct 9th I worked 7am-12pm instead of till 1
I asked him about that and he said 12
and the last day I was 7-1 Tue Oct 10th
All last week

So when you calculate that, its comes to 22 hours
Which was supposed to be 2 more hrs

The first day I had 12 phone lines total

I don't remember the rate list for commissions but the last I knew if I went over 10 lines sold I was being paid $12 each close Without even selling lines
Just switching them over to different billing
He tells me it shouldnt be hard for me to make $800-$900 a week

So with just commissions thats $168 for 14 lines converted or $192 if the last 2 lines were verified from which the phone system was problematic

As far as regular pay goes, $12 x 22 hrs = $264 without taxes as independent contractor

They paid me 2 nights ago $100 for 4 days on Friday
Because that is when they cut the checks every week
That only breaks it down to less than $4.80 hr
All this stress has occured to me at a bad time

I was hoping to stay at the job at least for the rest of the week and was very surprised at the circumstances of my last day of work as there was not even the opportunity to look around for the missing deal

Details:
While ending my shift Tuesday he asks me where my 4 line deal was?

I PUT IT on the sales sheet AND my sales log
within 30 minutes from the time I got on the phone
ON MY GRANDMOTHERS GRAVE STONE

I don't remember the persons name but its on the log

I go to the sales sheet with him and its GONE!

He tells me to come back on Friday TO PICK UP MY CHECK

IS he serious that I'm not going to log a deal that could pay me $50?

AFTER he says he understands I did my job?

Why would i have to come back and pick up my paycheck on friday?

Why if I did my job would he act like I am no longer employed?

I had verification problems that day with the machine where I would have gotten 2 more sales
I come in and do my job
I was VERY excited to finally find a cool place to work at - in a long time
I do about 250 calls a day
I try to learn as much as I can about the job and the company
I volunteer for childrens abuse and neglect orgs for 5 years and domestic abuse orgs with references, which I submitted to their company as I felt that was a great gesture that they put together
I raised $300,000 in money for non profits for 6 months
I was rated 22nd best in 739 agents for customer service for a year at my previous job

I known sales since the early 90's
Have 16 yrs customer service
Etc

I really needed that job at this time

The hirer termed me because he didn't find a sale listed in the sales log from which I did so being verified by an assistant

If I had a deal
I would have to sign at the front and give it to one of the girls to call the customer and verify it

This is http://www.singularsolutions.Biz who call themselves Impact Telecom as well and AT&T division
So 3 businesses in 1 office
All theirs

I didnt know the number of phone lines on thatlast call
And I remember not adding it to the SALES LOG

But the call was verified

Another employee Tonya even came upto me to tell me how many lines I had on that call
4

So technically I performed all my duties. Maybe I put the deal on the wrong sales log. I will accept that

As far as Patrick goes, I don't know why he would act up that day

Perhaps he was a bit stressed that day with his workload
But again Ive never been in that situation before where I was abruptly fired
Especially for something like this. Usually you get verbal warning, a written and termination or suspension and then termination out here. And coaching or retrain had been involved

But more important to me at this point is that I need that extra $160 that is due to me working more than 7 hrs
I will also add that there is no drug testing at this place and when talking to the owners Co-owner Dustin looked high with bloodshot and glossy eyes

This is what the co-owner told me today:

Alan,

Weve gone over this on several occasions.

You are paid in full for all monies owed.

If you have questions, please feel free to call on Monday to discuss.

At this time and going forward we do not have a position for you at Singular Solutions.

If anything changes we have your information on file.

Good Luck!

Best Regards,

Kelly

We did not go over the pay but once and was told to call Monday

What can I do?

Thank you
