Company has a web site that sells 800 number Voice Mail service. They DO NOT confirm that the local telephone number they bill the services to matches any part of the local phone number account information.in other words ANYONE can sign up for their voice mail service, give ANY phone number, and get an account. The $14.25 per month (fee taxes) is automatically billed to that local phone number. If the person who has that number doesn't notice, then the person who signs up online gets "free" 800 voice mail.
The company WILL refund any charges made to the local phone number account holder "in 1 or 2 billing cycles".
The local phone company says that the "FCC mandates by law that they must bill for 3rd party companies".
From Solo Communications perspective this is a great deal as they can sell more services and only has to do refunds if the local phone number account holder spots the "crammed" charge.
