I am an employee with capital one (unfortunatly) but atleast I got a job. I've read a lot of complaints and reports about the fees. I am aware of the fees that are being charged to cardholders and I don't agree with all of them. But tonight I don't want to talk about fees but the concern I have regarding capital one's firing of employees and raising standards that can hardly be met day after day. Everyday when I go to work I have to wonder if I still have a job or not. So many people have already quit because of these ridiculous standards. Some people on this site talk about customer service sometimes it's very hard when managers push you not to do this and not to that and satisfy the cardholder the same time.
At capital one they give 10 sick days and want you to use none of them and when you do they give you a hard time. They can even put you on a phase (Meaning Probation). Why give out sick days if you cannot use them? I've seen Managers who committed several sexual harrassments where one of them I saw with my own 2 eyes reported it and nothing happened is now acting senior manager and probably will get the job. Managers who are good and fair get fired. Capital One always says they promote diversity. Diversity meaning different shades of white or all colors because black people again do not hold high position at capital one are not being promoted. I am very upset and fustrated about the things going on within Capital One. One more thing to kind of explain what is going with customer service.
Capital One whats associates to be very friendly courtious explain everything attempt a product that a cardholder has not taken advantage of go into conversation and make the call last 3 minutes. That is almost impossible to do. Now if I don't take certain amount of calls in a hour it may turn out that at the end of the month your calls per hour when they are calculated you may end not receiving the incenative ranging anywhere $100-$400. What would you do? Take as many calls as possible, keeping your job, and receiving additional money or will you service the call as good as you can no matter how long sacrifice the additional money and end up loosing your job. Do well with customer and get fired - F#@ the customer and retain your job. What would you do?
