From Margaret E. Crawford, Belleville MI
I have been without phone and internet (I have dial up) service for 8 days because Vonage "owns" my phone number. I did what I thought was a "tentative" Vonage agreement because I was not sure I could get high speed, which they require. I couldn't and tried to cancel the next day, but all was in process.
I can no longer reach their cancellation/customer service lines — there are three, and no one has answered my e-mails with specific information about what I need to do to get my phone transferred back to A T & T.
Their service people are all over the world, and language/communication was a huge problem.
Vonage says I owe them $39.99 for no service. They also say I owe them for a modem, which I refused at the door and never touched.
This has been a horrible experience. I have talked to four people who have had similar or worse problems with Vonage.
