I told the clerk that I wanted a portable dishwasher. We went to the computer and found one for $529. I told her I had found it much cheaper on internet & she said they would match price if I got a printout.
I went home, took the number and stock number she gave me & got a printout. When I got back she called another clerk who says she is manger and she refused to match price, said it had to be a store, not internet, and one on their list. I paid cash for the dishwasher & they ordered it.
My son picked it up & upon taking it out of the box found it did not have wheels. He called my cell phone, I told him to take it back and another clerk told him they ordered the wrong one. When I got home today I went to the store and the clerk (who says she is the manager) argued with me because the printout I had has a "B" in the number instead of a "P" and when I told her I wanted my money back (I had paid cash, an error on my part), she said there would be a restocking fee of 15%!!! The "Return Policy" says "If for any reason you are not satisfied, simply return your purchase in its original packaging...". It is on the back of the receipt but they did not point that out, and it is not displayed anywhere I saw, and it was returned in it's original box with all the packing, etc. She did not give me ANY of my money back. I called the Sears Consumer Complaint Line and they said they would ask the store here to waive the restock fee and would have an answer by Friday, August 24. I will file suit in Small Claims Court on Monday if they do not give me all my money back.
I went to another store in town and got the dishwasher she was supposed to order for $449, a savings of $80.00!! HINT: Do Not Pay Cash For Anything You Order At Sears!!! I will add the resolution as a comment!!
