Child protective services is a big joke that can ruin your life in a heartbeat. I seen my daughter that i get to see about every 6 months for christmas 2006. There were 14 people in my home at the time.
My daughter who will soon be 14 had been asking me for a cell phone and i really couldnt afford it so i told her i would try to get her one soon. I have always been a long distance father as my ex took her out of the state at the age of four, but ive tried to get her everything shes ask me for. Anyway after christmas we continued to talk until march. It was then i was contacted by law 'enforcement saying that my ex had filed a report against me for assaulting my daughter during that christmas visit. I went and 'talked to a detective and told her my story and showed her evidence of my daughter sending me an email saying she was getting really mad i hadn t gotten her a cell phone yet, to watch out... The detective dropped 'the criminal case... Lack of evidence cause it didnt happen.
Well the next thing i know i am receiving a official report from the san angelo child protective services office saying that i had been charged with a civil charge of sexual assault of my daughter... I was never contacted by cps to be interviewed, nor was any of the 14 people who were at my house where this supposedly happened, nor was the detective or law enforcement officials contacted on my behalf... in a system where we are suppose to be innocent until proven guilty, it seems as if different rules apply to state agencies. Let me know what u think because i need all the help i can get because i am trying to take care of this issue. I have got them to reopen the case but i am still guilty as far as i know, but i still have to pay my child support or god knows what would happen if i missed one payment. Which i never have in 12 years, but thats another story...
