Texas DFPS aka CPS is a joke! My granddaughter has exhibited signs of being sexually abused, both in behavior and documented physical signs to the point that her Dr. Made a report to CPS. CPS interviewed her father, the alleged molester, and then closed the case because HE told them it wasn't true! As if he would admit to the caseworker that he was commiting an act that could get him imprisoned!
As my daughter and this man are divorced, CPS acts as though this is just a case of two divorced parents finding ways to hurt each other when all we want is this child protected! Despite the Dr.'s findings of evidence of sexual abuse and because CPS closed the case (without ever having even spoken to the child, her mother or having examined this child or her two half-sisters who live with the father!) the judge ordered visitation continued and even allowed overnight visits. We put my granddaughter in counseling to help her cope and her father constantly calls the counselor with stories of how my daughter, the mother, is just unreasonable and making it all up and always wants to know exactly what the child has said to the counselor.
It should be noted that the father never attends functions at school, her dance recitals, t-ball games, etc. Nor talks to her teacher at school, coaches, etc. But is ONLY interested in speaking to the counselor to find out what the child may have told her. She comes home from her visits to her father and his girlfriend's house upset, crying and full of stories about things that have been done to her from physical abuse, to the sexual abuse to the emotional and mental abuse they heap on her. They have even gone so far as to threaten her that if she tells anything that happens there, they will kill her mother and she will have to live with them all the time.
Her counselor has made a report to CPS based on sessions with the child and everything that she has told her about her father's girlfriend's abusive behavior like washing her mouth out with soap when she cries for her mother, hitting her and numerous other abuses and about her father touching her "privates" and how she can't sleep when she is there because "Daddy" is always coming into her room to touch her. CPS has failed to act to date on this latest report of abuse.
This child is barely FIVE years old and this has been ongoing for two years now and NOT ONE agency that is supposed to help protect children has helped despite our repeated requests for help in keeping our girl safe. These accusations are not coming from an ex-wife but from TWO different medical professionals and yet CPS fails to even interview the child or have her examined by their Drs. Or have the other girls in the home examined? All they do is visit the accused and take his word for it that nothing is happening.
How can this be? Child Protective Services—what a joke! It should be Child Molester Protective Services!!! Discipline your child for misbehaving and CPS wants to take them from your home but abuse and molest them and they will turn a blind eye! This is one agency that could stand a major overhaul or complete dismantling.
