I was contacted by ARC when I first moved to South Carolina. I foolishly agreed to subscribe with them. I waited the allotted 6-10 weeks for delivery but no magazines came. I attempted to call them but I never had a human answer a phone call. Also, their website does not work. All this time, I was being charged $39.90 per month.
Finally they contacted me for what I thought was them trying to correct the problem.in actuality, they began charging me $39.90 TWICE A MONTH! I challenged all of these charges with my credit card company and was credited every penny.
I quickly received a call from ARC telling me that my account was now past due because of these charges. I told them that I had not received any magazines from them and they said there was a problem with the publishers and it would be corrected. I told them that I would rather not do business with them and that I wished to cancel. I was told that I was past the cancellation period, which was three days after I received an information packet from them. Guess what? I never received any packet from them.
I am still fighting this company, both through my credit card agency and a report I have filed with my state's Attorney General office. I will do everything I possibly can before I let them have a dime of mine.
