I bid and won a Digital camera on an ebay auction hosted by Dealtree, it was at a very low price, the retail price was well over $500.00. When the camera shipped with UPS, my item had an "exception" on the UPS tracking site. UPS had not posted a scan to recieve the item to be shipped to me in San Diego from Tustin CA about 110 miles away. After a week and a half I didn't recieve the item, nor was I contacted by Dealtree. I contacted Dealtree after finding thier phone number on usacomplaints.com.
Customer service email stated "wait another 1-8 business days for UPS to complete an "investigation" for the now "Lost" package". 9 days later a UPS representative called me to confirm that I have not recieved the package, I confirmed that I have not recieved that package. With a second call to Dealtree, a few days after the UPS representative called me, a refund for my original "lost" camera was in process. Knowing that things get lost during shipping... I began the search for another camera.
In the mean time, I found another Digital Camera to purchase from "DealTree" in another Ebay auction. This camera had a higher retail value well over $600.00 yet I won it for $. 67 less than the camera that was previously "lost". I called Dealtree again to get my refund applied to the new Auction that I had won to replace the "lost" digital camera I had won previously.
Customer service couldn't apply my refund to the new auction item I had won.
I would have to recieve a refund for the "lost" digital camera, then make payment again for the second camera auction I had won. More delays to making the payment to DealTree for the second auction I had won.
Because I had not posted payment for the second auction, I recieved a "Please Pay us" email with an invoice that claimed I owed them more than the previous auction.
I then discovered that the invoice was charging me sales tax on the total of the item AND shipping & handling together, and had included another $12.04 under the heading of "TAXES & FEES". I will make a call to Dealtree again tomorrow to request more information on the amount requested, and why they are charging me Sales Tax on the shipping & Handling as well.
How many "claims" have been paid by UPS to Dealtree? How many buyers have paid Sales Tax on the incorrect total invoice amount that included the S&H? According to Dealtrees auction pages "How many customers have paid Sales Tax on purchases that did not calculate shipping and local taxes properly.

Which is it Dealtree?
I'm not sure what the outcome will be, so far, Dealtree has me for $357.35
I'm also the California State Board of Equalization would like to know where all the Tax dollars have gone as would all of those not in TX or CA that have paid taxes and have been over charged by this liquidator. We all love to save a few dollars, but none of us should be Ripped Off!
