Tuscan Readers Services
Book selling scam ripoff

Well, I fell for it too.

An attractive and well spoken young teenage or early twenties woman, blue eyes, freckles, white came to my door. Like the other reports she was asking for donations to privide books to poor kids because it also helped raise money for her "softball" team. She just moved into the neighborhood and lived on a nearby street that she mentioned by name etc, etc, etc.

She was so nice, polite and personable that I ignored my intuitive feelings and wrote the check for the smallest donation - $40.00.

She had an incredible vocabulary, asked tons of questions about me and my family, and was very knowledgeable about the college my daughter just graduated from, if fact she was going to Ohio State in September to pursue the same major as my daughter.in short she was the best "con" person I've seen in quite a while.

After she left I asked my wife if she had ever heard of Tuscan Readers Services and she said no, better check the Internet. That's where I found out about the scam, called my bank, and stopped payment on the check.

Such a shame that this talented young woman has to resort to scams/cons to make money. She obviously could be an excellent sales person for legitimate products.
