Solymar Homes
Different Company, Same crook ripoff

I hope I am writing this because of a article published on June 1 in the Arizona Republic. The article was titled "Homeowners paid for work contractor can't complete."

I am one of the people that gave money to Gary Miller but there are a ton of facts missing. For example, in 2006 Gary Miller worked for a company called Express Builders and he swindled over $700,000 from many of us for that company. The owner of that company, Douglas L. Cannon filed for bankruptcy April and was interview by Channel 3. Mr. Cannon claimed he was swindled by Gary Miller, that Gary Miller would receive checks and then he stole them from Cannon.

I was interviewed in the case against Douglas Cannon and was shown a line up of who was the person that I talked to and gave a $14,000 check to, Mr. Gary Miller. Now I read the Registrar of Contractors have allowed Gary Miller to represent a company called Solymar and swindle more folks. The ROC was telling me they had filed a criminal law suit against Gary Miller and Express Builders while they are allowing the main crook to work for another company and destroy it. Then the ROC wants to tell us (the public) you must use a licensed contractor and that we are protected. Heck, The ROC is helping this crook to continue his scam.

My story is the same as many others I have seen, we were all ripped off by this Gary Miller fellow. Mr. Miller doesn't owne the companies he just destroys them. He worked for Express Builders, he worked for Solymar Homes and the sick thing is, he lives in a guard gated community, owns a beautiful house, massive truck and that was all paid for with ripped off money.

Mr. Miller has, I noticed, a cohort in crime, a Mr. Carlos Montoya. This fellow is a architect, yea, ok, I never saw plans. Well, Mr. Montoyas story is incredible also. The way I found out that Miller had run off with my money was by Mr. Montoya's wife who call me. She told me that she was soooo upset because her husband had just found out that Express Builders had filed for bankruptcy and they had not been paid for the drawings they did. Now the funny part is she wanted me to send them $4,500 for the cost of the plans for my project, Ha Ha, no way. I told her I had no plans, my $14,000 included the plans and if she was out, go after Express Builders. OOOHHH she cried, all the other people sent in their $4,500 and she felt I should pay for their services. I informed her we could discuses this nicely in front of a judge. Never heard from her again.

Now their scam is I can't go after them for the plans or money because I contracted with Gary Miller / Express Builders.

I gave all this information to the ROC, met with the ROC, have been waiting for the ROC to do something and I fear the ROC is chasing the wrong people. See, Mr. Miller is playing with the ROC, has been playing with the ROC by hiding behind these companies. It wasn't Express Builders/Douglas Cannon or Solymar Homes / Phillip Hinrichs, it was Gary Miller and Carlos Montoya.

What is so incredible is I owned a business and successfully won a suit against a manager of mine who worked for me and a competing company. My suit was won because we proved the manager had torturously interfered with my company and had cause damages of $1.5 million.

Gary Miller is tortuously interfering with these companies and causing them to file for bankruptcy. My feelings are both these companies had insurance and nobody is checking to see what kind of recovery there may be. The ROC has insurance and they ALLOWED Mr. Miller to continue his scam. The ROC has a lot of nerve allowing this man to keep working for companies and ripping off the public.
