The practices of this company are unethical, unorganized, and unprofessional. After seeing numerous infomercials about Clay Cooley and helping ANYONE with bad credit, I decided to make my first car purchase with this company. After 6 hours of being pressured into a payment and car I could not afford, I ended up with a car.
The salesman encouraged me (basically told me) to lie to the finance company about the car, the coborrower, and my downpayment. He told me numerous things that were very sketchy and quite illegal.
After 2 days of battling them for information on the car and all of the paperwork I signed (they refused to even give me a copy of my contract), I decided to get a carfax. The carfax showed the car had been wrecked twice, after being informed that they did one saying the car was in perfect condition. I was supposed to take them a copy of proof of residency, as well as a pay check stub today to keep going with the loan for the car.
Instead, I called and spoke with Pedro the manager and told him the situation. I told him I wanted my downpayment back, and to return the car because of false information on the vehicle. He told me okay, we would work something out.
Meanwhile, Sergio the salesman has been harassing me with phone calls and even told me his manager (who is Pedro) called the car in stolen. Pedro said he never did such a thing. This company is full of liars and scam artists. Don't fall for their lies.
