I lived with this man for 7 1/2 years, starting when I was 15 years old and he was 36!! I gave him my entire youth as well as two gorgeous daughters. He is 6'10" tall and at the time, weighed 300 pounds. I am 4'9" and at the time, weighed 89 pounds. Among other things, he burned me, raped me, threatened to take my daughters away and have me committed if I didn't have sex with him on multiple occasions, and caused me to miscarry and almost hemmorhage to death. I finally kicked him out in 1986, got a divorce and full custody (he was never even granted visitation rights).
I had a child support case pending through the Texas Attorney General's office for about 18 years because Leonard refused to rver pay the $300.00 month child support ordered by a judge. All I EVER received in that entire time was a one-time payment of $250.00. And that was only because Leonard got arrested for DUI and that was the amount he paid to bond out, so the state mailed it to me in the form of a child support payment.
After 18 years, I received a letter from the Texas Attorney General's Office telling me that they were closing my case because Mr. Shelton was 62, had diabetes, and claimed himself as homeless.
So much for texas being "tough" on deadbeat parents!
