In October I received a call from a representative at Freedom Financial stating that they would send me a visa or mastercard credit card to be able to use anywhere just by verifying that I had a bank account in good standing. I gave the rep the information.
Well a few day later I learn that I was not being given a visa or mastercard, but a catalog card in which purchases can ONLY be made from some catalog and in addition, they were trying to debit my bank account for $275. Little to say, I was highly pissed.
I contacted the company, which they were rude and each representative had a different story. I had to close my bank account to prevent them from debiting my account.
Well, on November 18, I receive a letter from a law firm, Anderson, Randolf, Price LLC, stating that I owed $145.00. I called them and was informed that I had to pay that amount since I cancelled service, was sent to a collection agency& which I never even received a letter from their company stating that I owed them money, and charged due to the fact that I closed my bank acct. I informed him that there was no way I would pay a company that was fradulent and misrepresenting their products. The guy then told me that if I didnt pay, they would report it to the credit bureau. I informed him that I would dispute the charges with the credit bureau and Freedom Financial would not here the last of me, which they wont.
I am now in the process of reporting this company to the bbb and any any else that will hear my story. I am also considering suing this company for misrepresentation. I have researched this company and have found many complaints with my same situation.
