I was approached by a teenager who said he was from Texas, this past June 30. I was leaving my home and in hurry. He said he had been up and down my street selling magazine subscriptions.
He had a brochure of different magazines to buy and depending what I bought he said he earned points that earned him money. I purchased 2 different subscriptions. I wrote him a check for part of it and game him some in cash since he said if he collected any of it in cash, he earned extra points. I asked if he was associated with any school system, he said no. The receipt I received has all of the information on it. It shows exactly what I ordered and paid for. The name of the salesman, the points he earned, how I paid and even a cancellation policy if done within 3 business days.
I asked if there was a telephone number in case my subscriptions did not arrive, and there was. It has been disconnected as I tried today.
He said him and others were traveling the country selling the subscriptions. I have passed on other such people selling subscriptions, however, when I looked over the receipt I felt comfortable purchasing these.
Big Mistake! Now I can't find any info on this Silver Hill Circulation of Summerville Georgia. Help!
