Here are some other thoughts: I asked the HR recruiter, Jen, how the salary was structured, and aside from her not knowing, she also conveniently forgot to ask when I followed up. HR recruiters should know how to answer this question.
Finally, when I talked to Joe and asked him, he said that some people are given a base pay and others not. This inconsistency sounded like desparate hiring, not due to business growth.
Additionally, during the first interview with Joe, I brought up that I liked how the company has an online unversity, see the excerpt taken directly from the website:
"In addition to the hands-on support provided by senior executives in the field, the organization's web-based University and Intranet was launched for ongoing training, real-time communication, and round-the-clock sales support."
Joe's response was "We don't have an online unversity." Then there was an awkward moment.
BEWARE, don't waste your time with this company. I'm so glad that I didn't go on a 2nd interview. Next time, I'll do better research!
