I was contacted by Copeland Marketing Corp. To sell my timeshare. Unfortunately (or in this case, fortunately) I had been ripped off before by a real estate company who charged me upfront for an appraisal five years ago when I was attempting to sell this same timeshare - so I was leary. Not only did they assume they could sell this timeshare for an absurdly high price, they wanted to charge me $899 up front.
The salesperson was very good at what she did - putting the customer at ease, explaining what Copeland did to market the timeshare, including face to face presentations with visitors in Daytona, offering tourists free vacations etc., and siting that Copeland had THREE locations in Daytona. Thank goodness I checked the BBB website where there are MANY complaints listed and then this website. Obviously rip offs are rampant nowadays. Buyer must beware!
