Mark Peterson of Adely Organization contacted me via Career Builder website asking if i would be interested in working for his company as a donation courier. I said yes, and signed the contract. The idea of the program is that a check will be sent to you (the donation courier) from one of the sponsors, you are to then cash the check (keep 7% as commission) and send the rest via Western Union to one of the "families". This whole thing sounded a little fishy so I asked mark a buch of questions, such as "is this legal". He answered a couple days later, vaguely addressing my concerns but not really answering my specific questions.
I received my first check which was a cashieers check for a little over $4000.00. I had read about some scams online, so I did some research and learned that this bank the check was issued from (North Valley Bank in Texas) did not exist. I made several calls and tried to verify the authenticity of this check, and it appeared it was fraudulent.
I then emailed Mark explaining my findings, and he told me to deposit the check into my bank account... I tried doing this, and my bank would not accept the check because they were not able to verify it.
So I emailed Mark telling him the same, and he said he would terminate my employment "per my request".. I emailed him back, saying "Why can't you just answer my questions", and so on. I never heard back from him.
