I received phone call from a company claiming to be Capitol Financial. They told me that I was eligible to receive a credit card to start rebuilding my credit.
They told me that the card had a $2000 limit, a fixed interest rate of 8.9% fixed. All they needed was a deposit of $200, in return I would receive 4-$50 vouchers, to make my first 4 payments.
They also said that my account activity would be reported to the major credit agencies monthly. So I gave them the information to ge the account started.
They said once the funds cleared it would take 7-14 days to receive my card. It was set up to have the funds withdrawn on 12/2. Since I obviously have bed credit I was going to use this card to buy christmas gifts for my kids.
The funds cleared on 12/2 I and I called on 12/5 to make sure they received the money. Also to find out how long it would take to get the card. The man said something about the funds needing to clear through their bank. So I thought ok no big deal typical paperwork.
So I called my bank and said something to them about it and he told me since it was an ACH they would have cleared instantly. So he suggested to call them to find out what was going on.
On 12/15 I called and spoke to a girl named Tiffany who works for this Capitol Financial and verified that the funds were received on 12/2. She gave me some kind of story about they are sending me a letter to sign to give them permission to report my acount activity to the major credit agencies.
I asked her about a fax # to have the paperwork faxed to me and so I could fax them back and no fax existed!
This is when I started to realize that I was ripped off. So I went on the internet to look for this company, and I found this website.
So with the information I found here I am going to go to my bank to try to get my $200 back and try to have some kind of christmas!
