At the end of August a clean cut looking young man, who said he had graduated from Zion-Benton high school, and was now attending Northern Illinois University, was selling magazines. After visiting a bit, and asking for some water, he made a sale. I renewed (or thought I did) my husband's subscription to Golf Digest Magazine. There would be no interruption to service, he assured me. It's been forever, and no magazine. I contacted Golf Digest today and they have no record of a renewal coming through. My neighbor and I both contacted "USA" and were told to send a copy of the front and back of the check along with a copy of the receipt (which is not legible) and the matter would be looked in to. I let the gal know that the magazine was Golf Digest. She repeated "Reader's Digest". I corrected her. Near the end of the converstaion, when I asked if I should contact the magazine directly, she said TV Guide wouldn't talk to me. I corrected her again. What a joke. My bank recommends blocking out account number information to prevent further fraud. When you try to contact the company owner, you get stuck in a voice mail loop. So anyone out there in Northern Lake County who got stuck - renew or order directly from the magazine, or ask them who they work with. It won't be Universal Subscription Agency or Universal Service Agency. Try Magazine City like I did the first time around!
