I had this guy come to the door saying he was selling magazines to win a trip or something. I figured okay, I have wanted motor trend for a while so I will help him out and get the magazine. Then he showed me the price: $36 for two years! I had a subscription to the magazine before and it was never more than $12 for a year. That set off a red flag but he then told me I could get a free subscription to another magazine for two years so I figured, what the hey, and invited him in to fill out the forms. Then he explained there was a $10 processing fee and that if I could give cash it would be better than a check. Well first off $10 for processing? That is insane! And cash? I thought most magazine sales would request checks so no one ends up pocketing the money. I was stupid and wrote him a check anyways but checked for the company's background immediately after he left. I then found this site and called my bank to have the check cancelled.
Beware of this company, the salesmen are trained very well and are very friendly but all they really want is to scam you out of your money.
