What a friggin nightmare. From day one: when the excavation crew showed up along with the superintendent the pool yard was measured wrong so they moved the pool over, ok no big deal. Then when doing excavation I noticed that there was no swim out for the gratto. Blue haven contacted us to let us know that they were not doing the rock work and we signed an adendum. Ok.
They also dug out 18 inches for the swim out even though on page 5 of their booklet there is a beautiful picture of a cave like gratto. When we signed the contract for the pool we looked at the booklet and said we want that, indicating the picture on page 5. We got a slight version of that. Fine. Then the guy tells us that we need more light for the pool, another 700 bucks for a light. The excavation crew tore out 5 sprinklers in our front yard, we fixed them. The concrete crew showed up and after they left we started watering the pool. As the days went by I noticed gosh this pool seems deep. The contract is for 3 1/2 feet in the shallow end and 6 feet in the deep end. The pool is 40 feet long. I called the construction guys after measuring the pool (5 feet in the shallow end and 6 feet before you get to the middle with the deep end at 6'10. They said they would get back to us. The steps in the pool (3 steps) measure the firs two 12 inches and the last one a whopping 17 inches! The tile and coping got done so we called the rock guy. They had the wrong detail for the gratto. They said it would be here in a few days, that was a few weeks ago. Meanwhile after a friggin million calls they inform me that they are not going to put anymore gunite in the pool because the plans do not specify where or when it is suppose to be 3 1/2 feet - 6 feet, DUHHH, the plans only show 3 1/2 in the shallow end and 6 feet in the deep end, unfriggin beleiveable! They think they can get off with a technicality, I contacted a lawyer who informed me of the CSLB and he said we deffinately had a good case and they cannot get away with that. Our backyard dream has turned into a backyard nightmare. Has anyone gotten anything resolved by filing a complaint with the CSLB? Please let me know otherwise I'm taking their asses to court and making them pay! I actually cried today when he gave me some bull shit line about how they will not fix the pool and why. I am having anxiety and feeling super upset. Isn't this suppose to be a happy time, family time, you know... Yippee we're getting a pool. Bottom line, this sucks but I WILL do whatever is necessary to make this right!
