Clearing House North America
$750,000 Prize A Fake! Ripoff Canada

About three weeks ago, I recieved a letter in the mail from Clearing House North America informing me that I had won a sweepstakes drawing in the amount of $750,000. It instructed me to call a phone number to speak with a Mr. Eric North regarding my winnings. Now, I have to say here that I'm not stupid, but merely a broke college student, and let's face it, any chance I have at getting free money, I would gladly take. I can't even get a student loan. Working 2 jobs and going to school sucks. But I digress...

So my sister calls the number and "Mr. Eric North" says he'll call me the next day, which he does. He tells me I will receive a $4800.00 check in the next 14 days, which I am to send off as a preliminary IRS payment. My response to that was "I'll beleive it when I see it." Well, today I saw it. I received the check for $4800.00 as promised, but was still skeptical. The check was written from Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union. Hmm... I thought CHNA was in Canada... So I googled the bank's name on the internet, and sure enough on the main page of the website was a statement from Hawaii USA explaining that the cashier's checks received were fake, and that they were working to eliminate these occurences. So, watch out for these guys!!!
