I bought a Broadway show ticket for "Wicked" on ticketmaster.com about a month ago. There was no problem then.
Today I noticed that "$9" was charged to my credit card by Entertainment Rewards.
How could this happen? I was furious and embarrassed.
I came to know that this scam was by ticketmaster.com from reading lots of similar cases like mine on this consumer complaints site. I couldn't see any of the links or signs when I bought that ticket from ticketmaster.com. Also, I haven't gotten a single email from entertainment.com for sure.
I was scammed!
I saw a report by a customer that she was told she was stupid by an employee of entertainment.com, but that is not true. I am sure this is totally theft, not the customer's fault, because I am very careful buying goods on the net. Definitely, they take advantage of the fact that people sometimes can't remember whether they signed up or not, and it is relatively small money to protest strongly.
I contacted my credit card company immediately. They said that because it is overseas billing (I am South Korean), I have to wait about one week until they submit their bill to my credit card company. I closed my credit card account to protect against another future fraud like that.
If they submit their bill to my credit card company, I WILL ACCUSE THEM OF FRAUD!
How could this kind of scam happen in the most advanced country? I totally trusted ticketmaster.com but was totally teased by them. I will never ever buy a ticket from ticketmaster.com again.
