I met J N Richardson in March through I friend I went to school with. The night I met him was the only time in the two years since that I did not see him intoxicated.in fact it was in one of his drunken stupors, that he admitted to being married, two weeks into our relationship. I didn't know he was married because he lived with his cousin full-time and I'd met members of his family, plus went with him to orientation for his job (one of many; he got fired a lot). Turns out he and his wife were seperated, and she was supposedly living with someone else, so he said he didn't consider that a marriage. The fact is that he lied because I'd asked him if he was - or ever had been - married and he first told me no.
In our brief relationship, there were many problems. Although J did not call me curse words, he often would curse at me when he got mad although I didn't appreciate it. When he got mad he would say that I "could go jump off a cliff." He referred to me as a tease for not wanting to sleep with him - in only two weeks!!! J would speed in his truck (he doesn't have a truck now) cuz he knew it made me uncomfortable. J picked me up once and started drinking a six pack so I got out of the car to call my sister and have her her pick me up! He would randomly accuse me of being intimate with my male friend whenever I would let him know that I didn't feel respected when he audibly admired other older women in my presence. He told me he wanted to "f& all (my) friends" and I later found out he was still trying to get with the girl who hooked us up when he and I were together! He had the nerve to tell me I was lucky to be with him.
When he wasn't thinking about me, he was seetihing about his ex and how they "had everything" together and she messed it all up. He said he "shoulda blown her f&in head off" and other colorful things of that nature. He was frequently afraid that her boyfriend was lurking in the bushes of places we would go & he told me that he had a gun. At the time he didn't feel like he should have to pay his wife child support for their 3 year old, lil' Nashaun, because she "wouldn't let (J) see him (Nashaun), " despite the fact that - if he paid child support & stopped drinking all the time, she probably would.
After we broke up we would talk every couple of months and his only credit was that he was helpful and sympathetic when I broke up with the guy I dated after him, but this turned out to only be another ploy to try to get sex. When he didn't get it, at first he would back off, but 1 night he took his pants off and pressed his backside against his car window to climb on top of me and try to get it on. I was thankful to be within walking distance of my house and quit talking to him.
One night this summer, in a white pontiac sunfire, J watched me leave a parking lot and chased me down several city streets - speeding up so much that I thought he was going to ram into me. He left 6 voicemail messages on my phone about his "deep feelings" about our short relationship (from TWO YEARS ago!) & the fact that I was ignoring/running away from him means that its not worth it. He chased me all the way to my dad's house, where I called the police. He left by the time they arrived but I hope they caught him & at least gave him another DUI charge cuz he sounded extra drunk on my voicemail... He even asked for the phone number to the girl who hooked us up since "she knows how to be a better friend" than I do. Shortly after that night, the car he chased me in (a 99 Concorde I bought from my father) died, and my family suspects he drained the oil from it to ruin the engine... I don't think so, but I don't care because I was able to get my money back for that car and use it to buy a 2005 car for the same price (which I should have done in the first place).
I'm fortunate in that I haven't heard from J since that night & I hope that means the police caught up with him. He was my first boyfriend, in and I've had so much better since then that I know I will never let another guy treat me like that. I'm 20 now and I know better than to excuse that kind of behavior or hope that it will get better. I hope he gets help for his many problems, but leaves me alone. I'm filing this report cuz I remember how much he dogged his ex wife (Joakima?) and the next girl who meets him should know my side of the story in case he ever dogs me. Then again, it doesn't matter, cuz the next girl who dates him should be more concerned for herself than worried about me.
