At closing of our new home we had issues, the major one being our driveway. During phase II they put our driveway in while framing was still happening. Driveways are to be put in during phase IV. There was a plumbing issue during the build and they needed to rip up a 10/10 portion of the driveway, they PATCHED this spot with different textured/color assphalt. We were assured it would all be taken care of.
Due to incliment weather our driveway repair was to be done in spring.in the spring on day we came home to a "SEALED" driveway. This did nothing for our problem, we called and complained, they said we will look at it in the 1 year walk-thru 5 months from then. At the 1 year (JANUARY IN WISCONSIN) they said we will repair it in the spring, on 7/27 a contracter showed up saying they were told to "Blend" the patch in better.
I explained our situation the contracter said "you have a new house, you should have a new driveway, this is not a new looking driveway". They stoped work and went to a house up the street while I called the builders customer service manager. He said well let them do the work and we will see what it looks like. After some thought the contracter said he was'nt going to do that, the driveway needs to be ripped up and replaced or there needs to be a 1-2" overlay. They went to meet with the builder. I have been calling several times a day for 7 days now, with not 1 single return phone call.
My driveway is not done right, it looks awful, the original contracter who put the driveway in went out of buisness, and now the builder just avoids the issue.
* They tell you everything you want to hear, but when it comes to the actual work they turn their back on you and conduct bad bad business.
