Ramada Plaza Resorts
Ripoff

You guessed it, my family was scammed by Ramanda Plaza Resorts as well. However, it was too late for us and we had to take the vacation, I paid for it back in January. Just got back home today, what an experience.

We started our vacation in Ft. Lauderdale and stayed at the Ramanda Plaza Resorts on Commercial Blvd. It sure did not live up to the standards/video that we received in the mail.

Our room was disgusting to say the least. There was black mold in between the cracks in the tiles in the bathroom, the shower/tub area, the porcelin paint was peeling and then the carpet in the bedroom area was wet. And you guessed it the room itself stunk! It smelled like a can of raid was set off!

We had only two towels and we requested to get another set of two, since there was four of us. They refused to give us other towels, said they didn't have anymore to be given out. However, about 5 to 6 hours later they brought us up one towel. How considerate.

Our children decided to go down to the pool and again there were no pool towels. They only put them out once a day, and once there gone there gone.

We were suppose to stay in this bug infested motel for 3 nights, however, I refused to do so. I went directly to the welcome center, and told them I refused to stay in this buggy motel for another night. I was told that the only way I could switch motels was to pay a $50 dollar fee. I told the lady I didn't think so, she indicated that I would just have to stay here because since I wouldn't pay any more monies to them.

The more I thought about it, I began getting madder. I then contacted the Orlando Welcome Center. Told them of my situation. They went ahead and moved me up to the Amerihost in Kissimmee. Much better accomodations, and I didn't have to pay $50 dollars to change my accomdations. Imagine that. Still not thrilled with what I was promised and what I got.

Then came the cruise - What a boat! We were told that we could upgrade at the time I got my package to an outside cabin with a beautiful view. I thought that would be great, since we never been on a cruise before. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the room size as well as the peep hole we had that wasn't even in eye view. Not what we were expecting for a family cruise. They had no activities available for children like was promised and the swimming pool on the boat was not much bigger than a child's sand box, couldn't even get near it, because of all the kids trying to amuse themselves.

Do not get suckered into buying there excusions - what cost us over $200 you can go into town and get alot cheaper. For $200 we got a boat ride on a glass boat to see the coral reefs and the tropical fish, and spend the afternoon at Blue Lagoon, where they just drop you off and you have to stay until another boat arrives to pick you up. This is a deserted island, nothing to do there except hang out on the beach. That boat ride we were told would of cost us about $5 a piece.

Then don't forget about the time share presentations - they are alot longer than 90 minutes. When we arrived at the one in Orlando it was pretty funny after a while. We didn't want to eat lunch because we ate a late breakfast. We were told that we had to go and eat lunch or just sit there while the sales person ate, because they hadn't had lunch yet. We met the sales person, who then indicated that we had to drive our own vehicle to the place to eat which was about 5 to 10 miles away from where we had to meet. We ended up eating a sandwich, which was on them; then we were told since they bought our lunch we had to leave a tip! After we ate we then had to make another trip back to where we started from to begin the presentation, then again get back into our car and drive ourselves to the condo location, and then back to the sales area to where they talked to you about purchasing. Needless to say, we did not let them con us into buying any time shares. This took up most of our afternoon. Started at 11:30a and got out about 4:00p. And this is suppose to be a 90 minute presentation!

I am planning on writing to the R.P.R. And letting them know that we were very disatisfied and mislead. And Im requesting a refund, due to there misrepresentation and unethical business practice. Not a fun vacation!
