The Marketing Firm, Arbordahl, Both Under CYDCOR
Be EXTREMELY careful, very manipulative Ripoff

Ive read quite enough about this Cydcor company and i feel i need to warn anyone whos thinking of joining on in the Illinois area. I drove 2 hours from Michigan with the idea that i was singled out because of credentials and job experience, being that i am a recent graduate. I was first contacted by the Marketing Firm in downtown Chicago, and then secondly by Arbordahl and Associates in Niles... Wow, 2 interview requests, right away, i must be something special, considering i sent out over 30 resumes all over the U.S., and only 2 responded, i must be the perfect fir for them.

The first interview in downtown was interesting, it only lasted a few minutes, which was odd... No questions about my grade point, a trnascript, nothing, not even what exactly the job entailed, but what the heck, a jobs a job, right? So i go to the next interview in Niles... Same format, same questions, or lack there of, dead on match, but being the retard i am, i didnt catch on yet... On both occasions, i recieved the second interview request, complete with a "congradualtions, you made the cut"... Even more excitement now, im thinking im getting a chance of a lifetime now.

The next week, i go and rent a hotel room because i have both of the second round interviews back to back days. The first is with the Marketing Firm, whose campaign is Quill office supplies. I get to the office bright and early and sit for al;most an hour waiting with about 10 other people before they call me into the office and show me who ill be shadowing that day (mind you that everyone looks to be my age, 23, or younger... Hmmm)... So i go walk around into different business with this guy and some kid who had just started training for the next 6-7 hours in a nice damn suit... All the while, im listening to this arrogant son of a bitch talk up the money hes making, the parties, how great everything is, blah blah blah...

Heres where it gets good... While trying to sell these office supplies, these 2 guys prey on numerous churchs and schools, even funeral homes... It was sick, and i got a very uneasy feeling about being with these people... My "leader" was not professional at all, swore and made awful comments constantly, and when he asked for my resume copy, didnt even look at it, just folded it up and stuffed it away, after visiting almsoyt 55 businesses, they made 2 sales... Yee haa, but im still beingt open minded about it all, and answering all his dumb questions the best and most honest as i could... Also, i find out in all this, theres is no guarenteed salary, all on commissions, not even repeat commission, which means that you set up an account and every time they prder, you get the commission instead of continually having to go back again or continually having to make sales... To an entry level grad, thats a hell of a lot of pressure...

The end of the day come, he tells me im a cool guy and that he needs to know what sets me apart from everyone else... I give him an honest answer, end of discussion, we go back up to the office, and i fill out some questionaire that he did not go over with me at all, all the info on it might as well been in chinese to me... He leaves me to go have the "talk" with the boss to give him his evaluation... Im nervous now, what if im not the right guys? Oh no... Skipping over all the crap in the middle, i get offered the job, asking me to start as soon as possible, no mention of contract, benefits, nothing, still nothing asked about my grades, my credentials, nothing... Even better, they wanted me to cancel my interview the next day and commit to them on the spot, as if i was so hopeless to start with them... I smartly refused saying i wanted to way all my options, make sure im doing the best for me... Of course they were cocky about it and were positive theyd have me back...

Now on to day 2, the next second interview... Take pretty much everything i have just told you and repeat it, only the guy this time was much more professional... Even so, it was the same questions, same format, same bloodsucking crap again, just a different product. There was never any mention of contracts, papers, nothing, just a "when can you start?" even though i would have no place to live, not that they care... It suddenly dawned on my slow brain that this was a little too good to be true, especially with the president... No one starts a job at 23 and becomes president at 25 with no prior experience, im sorry, but things do not just come to you that easy, thats why its called WORK, you have to work at results to attain your goals, nothing is handed to you...

This company will try and reel you in with promise of phenomenal pay and a super team environment, as well as a rapid promotion, but frankly, id rather work for the next 10 years and know that it meant something when i reach the next level, not be a whore for some corporate company who cares nothing about me... These companies do not care whether you work for them not, so dont feel bad blowing them off... The only people that succeed with this type of business are those who have no morals and are only concerned with making the quick buck... Sorry, thats not me, id rather go home at the end of the day and know i did something meaningful... But this is only my opinion, take it or leave it
