Ripoff, liars, pyramid schemes, no base-pay, no professional sports team work, not marketing, not management, strcitly door to door sales ripoff

Like most of you, fresh out of college I read a post on Monster.com for ENTRY LEVEL MARKETING, WILL TRAIN, 33,000-40,000 DOLLARS YOUR FIRST YEAR. After I sent my resume through monster.com, a young sounding girl named Erica called me 2 hours later insisting I come in for an interview right away, as they are finishing up interviews this week, and if I want a chance at this great position I should come in right away.

I should have known that any company that calls me 2 hours after I send them my resume must be a little desperate. Anyways, being that I was in need of money and a "real life job", I accepted the invitation for an interview and scheduled it for the next day. On my first interview I walked into the office, which was pretty shabby. It was an empty room, with a couple chairs and a desk for the receptionist. It was painted bright yellow and dingy and right then I knew this must be bogus.

However, its still a mystery to me, I didn't run like hell. Anyways I sat down amongst the wiating room of 4 other eager looking college students waiting for their big break in marketing, and finally got called in to meet with Paul, the big boss man, who looked maybe 4 years older than me. After he leered at my breasts for a couple seconds he started asking me ridiculous questions that had nothing to do with my education or qualifications for this job.

He told me nothing about the job, and when I asked him about salary he told me I would make at least 33,000 dollars my first year, and that the medical benefits were great and I would qualify for them after my first month. So out I walked, dumbfounded and confused that I had actually learned nothing about their company. Anyways 3 hours later that same day Paul called me and said CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE QUALIFIED FOR A SECOND ROUND INTERVIEW.

Knowing by now that this had to be bogus, I reluctantly accpeted the 2nd interview (like I said, I was desperate). The 2nd round interview was a damn joke. I showed up, dressed in my new suit, and just stood there waiting around, talking to my fellow interviewees. Anyways shortly, we all got divided into our "groups" for the day, and walked outside to get into this guy Scott's car. It was me, one other girl who was interviewing, and the 2 morons who were interviewing us.

When we got in the car, we started asking questions, like what are we going to be doing today blah blah. The moron scott started asking us about marketing and what we know and what we think is the most effective way to get through to people. Finally, I flat out asked him if we were going door to door. He said no, we would be meeting with some clients. Finally he stops the car in a shoddy neighborhood 40 minutes away from the office and tells us to get out and follow him.

At this point, I wanted to go home, but when I told him I felt uncomfortable and I wanted to leave he refused, he said If i wanted to get back to the office I'd have to find my own way, and being that I didnt know where I was that might be difficult. So at this point i'm holding back the tears thinking I was in big trouble, with 2 strange men who refused to drive me back. Anyways after we walked around neighborhoods for 9 hours and sold maybe 4 of their stupid pizza coupons we returned to the office where people were yelling and chanting and getting "juiced up".

For about 5 minutes, I was into it, and now lookingback, I can totally see how people get hooked into this. Anyways, i got called back into "Pauls" office when he told me that Scott had reccomended me to get the poisition and I did a great job blah blah. I was at that point scared to death of the place so i told him I wanted to think about it (I didn't want to say no when I was in striking distance), and he somehow badgered me into saying yes before I left.

Anyways, I never called them back and never showed up for my first day, and after reading all of this I'm glad I didnt. Something needs to be done about this, not only is it unethical, but its dangerous, If they had told me I would be walking through strange neighborhoods all day with 2 idiots, I would have never gone. And don't even get me started with the lunchtime breakdown. Its all BullSh*.
