Ripoff poor quality, installation and customer service

Product & installation:

1. The Quality & Durability of the product presented to me is not what I have in my home. It is of a sub-standard quality that after only two weeks, scratches started appearing in the main walkway area. How could something so durable be scratched so easily? Nothing I have done would cause these scratches. Some of the scratches I know were caused by the installers, but they deny it. When they were installing the flooring they would leave metal tools (caulking guns, hammers), tool boxes, etc. On the floor. One long scratch was left in front of my fireplace the day they did the fireplace trim.

2. The installation was less than professional. I have pictures I can provide. The existing trim that I cleaned, sanded and painted was cracked, cut too short and left with a different color of caulking to hide the gaps. The trim they installed (1/4 round) throughout the house is poorly installed, leaving visible separators and nail holes.

3. The bathroom floor was incorrectly installed and not properly sealed. They installed laminate over existing and uneven chunks of concrete and ceramic tile glue, leaving the floor uneven and causing water to get underneath at the bathtub. Per the supervisor, they should have leveled the floor to remove any existing debris and properly sealed it especially near the bathtub.

4. As of today, 4/13/05, I have a cement floor in my bath.

The installers and/or Supervisor have been to my house 5 times since installation. They have corrected some of the minor items for me, but overall I am dissatisfied with the floor and wished I had never purchased it from this company (who offers a cheap off brand laminate).

Sales person/amount charged:

1. The Sales person (Dave Barmore) has failed, after several attempts, to be helpful in straightening out the amount charged to my finance account.

2. I've explained the numbers to the salesperson at least three times he has failed to correct it. On 4/5/05 after not showing up at my house to re-measure and resolve the difference, I called him and he told me he didn't show up OR call me because the finance company told him they corrected it. They HAVE NOT.

In summary, I have contacted the Laminate Home Store several times to resolve these issues and now they tell me that the fixes have to be resolved with the installers, the installers tell me I need to contact the manufacturer to resolve the scratching issue. The manufacturer company is located in Switzerland.

Personally, I would prefer if they just took up all of their flooring and took it away so I can contract with a reputable company that stands by their product and service. I should not have to be bothered with this issue on a daily basis, 6 weeks after the initial installation.
