My name in Jean. I am a 75 year old retiree with multiple health issues due to my years. My husband is confined to his chair for the better part of the day due to his deteriorating health as well. He can only move around with the assistance of our aide. But enough about my life.
I had a beautiful laminate wood floor installed in my home years ago by a reputable, honest company, which unforunately went out of business. During the summer of my home was hit by 2 Hurricanes, which caused my roof to leak, and my beautiful laminate wood floor to be destroyed. Unfortunately, the previous company had gone out of business, so I had to look to another company to come and replace my floors.
I called The Laminate Store in Florida, where I live and they told me to go into the showroom where I could pick a color, and get the flooring installed for my home. I chose a color in the showroom, and a gentleman came out to my home to measure.
When it was time for the delivery, the driver never showed. The Laminate Store charged me $175 to have the driver show up, and bring the materials into my home! For 2 weeks I waited for my delivery, and when it finally came, they had delivered the wrong color! The driver even went as far as turning the top box upside down so i would not see their mistake!
When I called the store, they told me that it was the color I had seen, but it looks different in a home! Then I told the man that the name on the box was different too, and the man told me to "Shut up, that I was old and I didnt know what I was talking about!" When I told him that I wanted to cancel, he said that I would still be charged the entire amount because I had signed the contract, so I was FORCED to have them install my floors.
When the installers came, they were late, they make my house a mess, and they did not install the floor properly, and the floor got damaged as a result.
To make a long story short, I have been fighting with The Laminate Store for over 3 months, and I am getting nowhere! The store blames the installers, and the installers blame the store! No one is taking responcibility! THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND RAN!
I tried calling a lawyer to sue for my money, and he told me that there are so many lawsuits pending, they would just declair Bankruptcy and I would lose by default!
I want to make sure that no one ever uses The Laminate Store or The Laminate Home Store ever again! They do not know what theyre doing, they use terrible products that are pieces of crap, and they do not stand behind their warranty at all!!!
Never use the laminate store ever!!!
