I got caught up in an "incentive reward" website offer which included signing up for numerous "free" offers of which Appera Whitening was one of. I signed up for several of these offers before I realized that it was not as it had been proposed and seemed to be a scam.
That same day, I decided to cancel everything I'd ordered. I cancelled through Appera Whitening's website plus I called their # and spoke with a female who said I should just cancel when I received my sample.
In two weeks, I'd not received the sample but I had been charged the 6.95 on my credit card. I called the credit card company and they credited the charge.in a few days, the sample came and I refused the delivery and sent it back.
A couple of days ago, which was a couple weeks after I returned the sample, my next credit card statement came which had a charge of 89.97 from Appera Whitening. I called my credit card company who said to try to contact them and get credit for the charge. After numerous attempts, I finally got connected to a person who claimed that I never cancelled my membership. He asked me for a cancellation confirmation # which I didn't have because they never responded to the two times that I filled out and sent the cancellation to them. He claimed that since I didn't have a #, I had been charged for the next shipment (which has not arrived). I told him that I definitely had cancelled and that I do not want the product nor will I accept shipment. He indicated that he did not care and that I was responsible for the charge.
I immediately called my credit card company back and have filed a dispute claim against Appera Whitening. To me, this is definitely fraudulent billing.
