Mario Farria Dba Pine Crest Motors
Ripoff master takes you down

I went to Pine Crest motors to look at a Thunderbird. I dealt with the owner there. He was asking 1999.00 for that car. I gave him a 300. Deposit and asked that he get the car ready to be test driven. I asked alot of questions concerning the car, mainly will it pass an inspection, what kind of warranty will I get and does the car need anything. Mario, the owner of pine crest motors, told me that all new brakes were put in, the car will pass an inspection easily, a 30 day warranty will be given and the lowest he can accept is 1750. For the car. I then got the 1450. Cash and paid Mario and he delivered the car to my house. (My own test drive was only one block and Mario came with me and talked strong to me about the warranty and that I can buy an extended warranty. I bought with confidence based upon his sales pitch and statements about a warranty.)

Mario did not give me any receipts other than for the 300. Cash down payment I gave him and he wrote on the bill of sale that I paid a total of 695. And explained that was to help me to register the car cheap. The next day I took the car to be preinspected at an official inspection site and was told that the car will not pass for several reasons as follows: All of the tires were severely split and dry rotted; bad tie rod end; missing facytory light (one fog light missing); no back brakes and some stabilzer links were shot and broken; as it was being preinspected antifreeze was leaking all over the ground. I went back and told Mario the car will not pass and he said the inspection place was lying because they sell tires and just wanted me to buy new tires. I spent 700. For tires and stabilizers and then got an inspection sticker.

The next day I took the car on the highway and discovered weird noises and slippage in the transmission so I went back to Mario who reluctantly agreed to attempt to fix the transmission. He only picked up the idle on the throttle body and did not fix the transmission. So then I attempted to buy an extended warranty because Mario made it clear he was not giving me my money back nor was he going to pay for a transmission. I then called Mass Consumer affairs and told my story; Consumer affairs told me Mario knew just what he was doing because the lemon law limit is 700. And he thereby went and eliminated my right by putting 695. As a sale price. It has been almost a month since I bought the car and the most usage on it was arrived by taking it to repair shops and I put 210 miles on it since the purchase date... in this amount of time I have gone to Mario more than 12 times asking him to make good on the car or give me my money back, he is firm in his replies and tells me I am on my own and all he can do is refer me to a transmission man that will not charge the usual full amount but that I myself will have to pay the bill.

At one point, the man told me that he had been without any sales for months, that he been borrowing money to pay the rent at his dealership and that I was the first one to buy from him in months so the money I gave him is gone. I put tires, stabilers, cd player, speakers, new wipers, new oils, new fuses, etc. And he knows I did and today I complained again to him and he told me he'd give me a thousand dollars back for the car. I have two cancelled checks that were cashed for the purchase of that car, the checks amount to 1450. And I have a recipet for the 300. Down I gave him. I also paid for inspection, registration, repairs, etc. Mario shrugged and told me it was too bad for me and I am on my own.
