Ripoff asked for EURO $950.00 to claim lotto winnings SANTA LUCIA

I received a letter in the mail saying I had won USD615,810.00 in the Loteria Primitiva Sweepstake Lottery Program. This letter informed me of my ticket number and the luckey numbers that they had drawn. It stated that I had been approved for a lump sum payment in cash and also quoting a reference number and batch number and also advising me that my fund had been deposited with a security company and insured in my name.

To begin my claim I was to call and speak to the claims agent by the name of DR Lorenzo Santiago (Oh my gosh "A Doctor"). Of course by the time I had read this I am thinking yeah right. I decided to call them and listen to what they had to say. The phone was answered by a Man with a spanish accent, he asked me to fax my Bank details to him and sign the form that was attached to the letter stating that I agreed to to pay 10% of my winning to Santa Lucia Security Company on receipt of this money. I told this man that I dont have a Bank account and if this was really true then please forward me a Bank Cheuqe to my postal address. He said he will phone me in approx 2 hour after he hand contacted the lotteries commission with my claim.

Dr Lorenzo Santiago (ha ha) called me back saying that the lotteries commission had accepted my claim but for his Company (Santa Lucia Security Company S. A) to process this claim I was to send him $950 Euro to a bank account. I told him did he honestly think people were that stupid, and if his company was soooooo legitimate that he could send me a cheuqe and I would reimburse the company there $950 Euro.

He then proceeded to tell me I could fly over to Spain and collect the winnings myself from the lottery commission and reiterated that his company was true and legitimate and the only reason that he was asking for the 950 Euro up front was because he had just asked the Lotteries commission to pay him this some from my winnings as per the signed letter. He stated that the Lotteries commission had said they were not authorised to pay him directly only the winner.By this time I was really angry and I told him to go out a get a Job like any body else and stop trying to steal from others. I then yelled at him and kept calling him a thief thief thief.

This man hung up the phone after he copped an earfull from me. I was so mad - even though I new this was a scheme to take other peoples hard earned money - it really affected me in way that some people will get sucked in by these rip off artists. After I got my proof that this guy was a rip off, I tried to keep him on the phone as long as possible so he would have to pay more in his international (Long distance call) to New Zealand.

I hope this helps any one out there who gets a letter in the mail. Remember if it sounds to good to be true - it usually is.
