On sep 12 2001 I received a check from Palm Beach Toyota for $7685. I knew that it said for upto that amount but i thought i would get at least $2000 for it.
Opon ariving I was greeted by a freindly man Steve Willingham. He asked what I would like and I told him. About 15 Min. Later he brought the car i had described, a 2002 Toyota Carrolla. I told him I am a privious owner of Toyota's (I have owned a 74,80, 87, and a 95 that I still own).
Upon entering the building they checked my ticket and found out i won $10 After talking price, I found out it was more than what i asked for. I told him so he disapeared for 10 min then came back with $300 knocked off. Still nowhere near my price, I complained some more. He left again and came back in 10 min with $200 off. Noticing they had not even talken off for the check, I asked about that. This time another $200 came off. Now I had to explain what I asked for UNDER $300 with $500 down plus tradein. He leaves again.
Finaly upon his return he says " MR Luther I got exactly what you wanted". We go into his office and sign papers thinking the paper say $13600. While Signing I notice his thick pen. He talks about it and brags its from his kids. The real reason for the THICK PEN is to hide what he put down on the contract.
After leaving and being turned over to the finace manager. I decovered What he had done. He had hidden the numbers and i paid $15600 for it not 13600. Now working with the finance manager he did me no favors. I shouldnt have to pay more than 8% on a new car loan after haggeling with him he gave me 10.5%. The next day I drove down to Delray Toyota. There not as freindley but their deals were much better. The exact car I purchased at Palm Beach Toyota was $2 000 less they even had some $3000 less minus some options in my car. If Palm Beach Toyota is not going to give the customer what they promised then they shouldnt be in busness. I'm doing my part to see to that I now drive everywhere with signs on my car saying " I BOUGHT A LEMON DEAL AT PALM BEACH TOYOTA" and anotherone says " PALM BEACH TOYOTA GIVES AWAY ALMOST WORTHLESS CHECKS". Also have written "HIRE A LAWYER BEFORE YOU BUY". Give your Salesmen a course in HONESTY. Palm Beach Toyota may have cost me $2000 but I'm going to see to it that they get 10 times that in bad press.
I have been buying a new Toyota every 6 to seven years just think how much I can cost them buy not buying from them. Also I can cost them more by telling my friends, and e-mailing my contact lists. Also searching for everyone in Palm Beach county and e-mailing them this letter. Also will be opening up a web-page will send Palm beach Toyota the web address after its been up for 3 months. Ps: I am happy with the car itself its just the deal I got from Palm Beach Toyota That I am Mad at. If you deal with them HIRE A LAWYER FIRST or go to Delray Toyota
