I was having complications with my heating unit. I called for a service call from ragsdale, and they came out and the charge came up to $60. While diagnosing the problem, the technician told me what he felt was the issue. Without asking for any authorization, he completed the work, which came up to $270.00. Because I felt like the work had been done, I paid him.
The next day, the heat went out again. I called Ragsdale again to come in and look at the problem. When the same technician arrived, he told me it was another problem and that it would cost $500. When he attempted to fix the problem, he addressed the fact that I needed a whole new system.in the meanwhile, I noticed that he did not reassemble the unit, but he left it unassembled and parts were missing.
In order to get a second opinion, I called a competitive company to survey the situation. When the company technician came, he could not tell me what was wrong due to the fact it was unassembled, and notified to me that the previous tech took valuable parts from the unit, not just the ones he had replaced. I had to purchase the mentioned parts and he fixed the problem, and my unit is operational.
I called Ragsdale to request a refund on the parts and labor of his first visit. They refused. I was not asking for the service charge back because I am aware that it was for them to come out. But if I asked for a service and it did not solve my problem, why should I pay for it?
