Went to buy 2pr shoes, socks for $70.17 was told check denied. No reason given. Asked to see manager, this black man walker over asked cashier if she ran it, was told yes. Came back denied. He handed me my check and said good day turned and walked away. This in front of 3 customers! Was given card of certegy their check checking company. Called put on hold 12 or so min. Got dial tone. Called back got computer was told check denied got no reason. Was connected to a live person (i have no problems with race) of witch i could understand 1 out of 5 words, asked to speak with supervisor. Put on hold once again for 8-10 min. The lady i spoke to told me my check was denied because of a computer model forcast based on the time of day, amount of check, the fact that i have not been in big 5 for 13 months and because of this that was a high risk that my check would not clear. Let me tell tou that the check #was 6842 thats right six thousand eight hundred fourty two! Not exactley a new accounti havnever had a bad check, a late payment repo of any kind. My credit score is in the low 800sbecause of the way i was treated at big 5 and your check checking freinds at certegy i will never shop at this company ever o and by the way i have told this to my co workers (employed by same company for 37 years) and most said they would avoid this company also.
