This first started on August 21. Someone by the name of Daniel Stern called my job and left a message with my manager and told her that he needed my address because he needed to serve me some papers because I had charges and a claim against me. He left a claim number and a phone number to contact a "firm". The number is 8558031371. I received a voicemail on my cell phone shortly after. So when I got home from work I called that number and they told me they were trying to get me for check fraud through a payday loan that I never payed back. The man I spoke to wanted my social security and my checking account information, I refused to give it to him and I hung up the phone. I temporarily blocked my number by using *67 when I called that number, because I was using my house number and nobody knows my house number. But when I hung up the phone they called me back right away even though I had blocked my number. They keep calling from a private number and the man Daniel Stern kept leaving voicemails saying this was my "Final Notice". I ignored all the calls, but the next day while I was at work I answered the phone like I always do and it was Daniel Stern again. He told me I needed to call that 855 number if not he threatened to show up at my job that same day. So ofcourse I freaked out, my stomach was hurting so bad all day because of all the nerves this company was putting me through. So during my lunch break I called the company and I explained to them that I intend on paying the loan back but that I am a college student and I didn't have the money at the time. The man on the phone wanted an exact day that I was going to be able to pay, I kept telling him that I didn't know and he wanted me account information again but I refused. So I told him that they needed to stop harassing me at work because I was close to getting fired because of them. He denied that someone was calling me at work saying that they didn't have it documented that someone ever called me at work. So I gave him Daniel Stern's name, and he said they have never heard of anyone by that name. Thats when I started getting suspicious. So I told him that if they called me at work and harassed me again that I would call the police and file a lawsuit against them for harassment and his exact words were, "WELL GOOD LUCK IN COURT!" and he hung up. So then this morning I recieved another voicemail yet again from Daniel Stern stating that this was my Final Notice. So I called the company one more time to figure out what was going on. I talked to a man by the name of Robert Nash, surprisingly he seemed very nice and helpful, too convincing I might add. He gave me an option of paying only $198 today only, out of the $532 that I owed. His next option was that I pay $265 on August 30, the day I get paid. So I was thinking that I much rather pay $198 than $532. So I told him I would call my mom to see if she would lend me the money. But before I got to hang up he asked if I could just pay with a paypal or western union and I said no. So he asked for my debit card number and like a dummy, I gave it to him, thinking he was helping me out. He gave me his extension number 412, to call him back. So I called my mom right after and she told me that it didn't sound right, for my to call the place where I got my loan out to see what was going on. So I called them but they sold it to a collection agency by the name of United Debt Holdings. I called them and they sold it to another agency by the name of Sands Recovery. So I called Sands Recovery and no answer. So I called UDH back and told them what was going on, that I had recieved threatening calls saying that I had charges against me for check fraud and she kind of giggled a little bit and I told her the name of the company that had been calling me, MS Solutions. She said she has never heard of that company, so I asked her what I should do and she said, "don't worry about it. Take it with a grain of salt." By then I was furious that a fake company had been trying to scam me and harass me especially at work! So I called me bank right away and they changed all of my account information so that this fake company would not touch my money. So I wanted to report this and make a complaint because I know they are going to try and keep calling me and harassing me. The one thing I am afraid of is that when he asked for my debit card number, he asked for my current address and I gave it to him. So I am terrified that one of them will come to my home if I keep ignoring their calls. I don't know what to do next if they call back..
