I too received a letter claiming I had won $125,000 in US dollars and a check in the amount of $3,875 from UnitedHealthcare showing JPMorgan Chase in Syracuse, NY as the bank the check was drawn on. Red flags went up immediately as my name was not shown correctly on either item. Also, the tax rate on prize monies is closer to 40% rather than the amount of the bogus check. The paper weight of the check and the letter was the same. And last, there was no return address on the envelope - only the words "Standard Life". On the surface to an unsuspecting recipient, this might look legitimate; however, a closer look shows the discrepancies outlined above. I hope action is taken against these predators/scammers.
